本日お届けする曲は「マイ・フェア・レディ」の中で歌われる有名な曲です。

ブロードウェイミュージカルではジュリー・アンドリュースが1956年に初演しています。

映画は64年でオードリー・ハップバーンが主演でした。

I could have danced all night.　この意味は、時々英語の参考書などに出てきそうですが、

これは、できたはずなのに結局はできなかった。という意味だと、私は学校の英語の先生に

教えてもらった気がします。

歌っているのはオードリーが全てではないようですが、少し歌っているように思えます。

彼女の声は少し鼻にかかった特徴のある歌声ですからね。

長い歌詞ですが、ダンスにはこの晩は行けなかったようです。

まとめ

踊れなくて悔しいのではなく、踊れたのにぃ〜！　という自信が感じられます。

明るくて楽しい良い曲ですね。

「できたはずなのに、できなかった」という経験は誰にもあるとおもいます。

そんな思いはわりとすぐに忘れますが、また湧き上がってきたら再び挑戦すれば良いのです。

やってしまえば、「やれたはずなのに・・・」という思いは消えてなくなりますから。

よく「やらないで後悔するより、やって後悔する方が良い」と言いますが、う〜ん、内容に

よりますけど、同じ後悔なら、そうかもしれません。
